Prof. Dr. Amanat Ali Jalbani is a distinguished academic leader, senior researcher, and higher education strategist with over four decades of interdisciplinary experience in university governance, business management research, and institutional development. Since March 2025, he has been serving as Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences and Adviser to the Vice Chancellor at Salim Habib University, Karachi.
Dr Jalbani holds a PhD in Business Management from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland (UK), following doctoral coursework at the University of Glasgow, UK. He also completed postgraduate studies at Scuola Superiore Mattie, Milan (Italy) under the merit-based scholarships and also earned his Master’s degree from Sindh. His strong international academic training enables him to align global academic standards with local institutional needs.
Throughout his career, Prof. Dr. Jalbani has held several top-tier academic and administrative leadership positions, including Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University and Acting Vice Chancellor of Shah Abdul Latif University. He has played a pivotal role in the establishment and strengthening of multiple higher education institutions, including SALU, ISRA University, SZABIST, IOBM and SBBU, serving in capacities such as Faculty Member, Dean, Director Research, and Vice Chancellor.
His research interests span a wide range of domains, including Public Policy Management, Marketing and Business Management, Human Resource Management and Organizational Behaviour, Globalization and International Business, Privatization and Liberalization, and Development Economics and Political Economy. He is particularly interested in exploring the interaction between public policy, institutional governance, ethical business practices, and economic development at both national and international levels.
Prof. Dr. Jalbani has published approximately 50 research papers in the recognized academic journals and has supervised nine PhD scholars along with numerous MS and MPhil graduates, significantly contributing to research capacity building in Pakistan. His scholarly work integrates strategic, managerial, and behavioural perspectives, offering policy-relevant insights for academic advancement and institutional reform.
In addition to his academic leadership, he actively contributes to research culture development, quality assurance, and editorial governance. Currently, he looks after as the Chief Editor of the peer-reviewed International Journal of Business and Social Dynamics (IJBSD), where he provides strategic direction to promote high-quality, ethical, and impactful research in business and social sciences.
